Aquatic plants will also enhance the beauty of your water feature. We can help guide your plant selection to give you the maximum aesthetic beauty and enjoyment, as well as add to the balance of your ecosystem.

See our Aquatic Plants page for more information about plants for your water feature.

Fish

Your pond will be a symphony of beauty with colorful fish (but not too many of them) helping to provide that balance to your ecosystem. Common fishy inhabitants include several varieties of goldfish and koi. Goldfish, which can live up to 14 years, and koi, which can reach 80 years of age, are great pets that require little to no attention.

Their well-designed watery home provides all the necessary elements that they need to grow and live a long, healthy life.

Avoid native species as they tend to be problematic in an installed water feature.

Taking care of your fish

Fish are the perfect pet - everything they need is right there in the ecosystem. They will feast on the naturally provided food from your healthy pond. But if you want to provide them with a tasty treat, we recommend a high quality fish food that you can purchase.

Other Wildlife

Other inhabitants will naturally be drawn to take up residence. Dragonflies and frogs will become terrific additions to your feature. They will be drawn to a watery dip or the beautiful plant life that are part of your waterscape.

Not to worry about unwanted pests such as mosquitoes - they will tend to be fewer as your fish and the dragonflies will consider them (and their eggs) tasty treats!
